The Topic
Interactive exhibitions in the 21st Century.
EXPOCASE is currently focusing on the highly topical subject of “INTERACTIVITY” for media and haptic issues, as well as solutions for museums and exhibitions. It’s all about interaction and participation. For that purpose, EXPOCASE will involve, challenge and activate parties in a theoretical as well as practical manner and thus have a lasting impression on the professional discourse. Many questions have come up concerning the topic of “interactivity” and will be ascertained, phrased and discussed with each other within the EXPOCASE framework.
… What kind of reciprocal effects exist between man and machine, visitor and object? To what extent do technologies encourage communication? Which presentation will grow with the visitors’ know-how? How can information and different media types be networked in an inspirational manner? What functions and freedom of scope do operator interfaces have? What role does sound and light play? What does explorative acquirement mean? How do expositions and installations become “social labs”? How much subjectivity can technology take? Which criteria define “successful interaction”? How can expedient evaluation be carried out?
